Steampunk Discord

(figure stands at 11” in height, 14” wide)

Commissioned request to craft a custom figure of Discord as seen in the Hub cartoon series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic but in steampunk accessories and a Fluttershy doll.

This is a one of a kind creation, and I could not possibly do this again. I could attempt to craft it with different methods and details.

I literally planned this out, nothing turned out as planned. At all and I did my own twists on things to make this work and it eventually turned into Discord.

Attempting to replicate this would result in me having to track down another clothes hanger, Strawberry Shortcake pony, and a Monster High doll with that reptile leg. And I don’t know if I could get that Fluttershy doll again.

Pony head used for this is a Strawberry Shortcake pony. That’s the only thing pony about this entire creation aside from the tiny painted pony painted to resemble fluttershy. (Paint is acrylic, sealed, and has painted yellow vinyl wings.)

Body is constructed of brown leather, and alligator embossed red vinyl for the tail portion. Cut slits and holes in appropriate area to attack limbs and wings. Punched stitching holes along everywhere in the leather, where I would stitch. 

Discord’s head is painted in acrylic paints.

Faux fur used for the tip of his tail, beard, and eyebrows. Mane is a black trim.

Stitched antler and fang from white leather. Other antler is beads wired together with cerulean blue hemp cord wrapped around.

Limbs- Cut a tan horse leg off a fakie pony with a brown hoof for a hind leg, other hind leg is a leg severed off a Monster High doll, painted in Testors green acrylics.

Arms- one arm is severed from a Equestria Girls doll, painted golden rod and has beige hemp cord wrapped around it to look kinda like a bird leg I guess

Other arm is acorn-colored bear leather I cut out then punched holes in with a leather punch stitched a round circle of brown leather for the inner paw pad.

Wings are dyed colored leather.

Stitched all beads and steampunk details on him prior to assembling him.

Customer mailed me half the steampunk accessories used on this, another reason this is a one of a kind creation~

When it came do assembling the body and head, I took a really thick wire hanger, had to clip it in a couple spots and re-attach some joints. Straight end is at the tail, then I stitched along his back as I stuffed him with batting. The hook of the hanger is inside his head cause it fit perfectly and gave the figure structure and posture.

……even if it’s a chaotic structure, it… resulted in things that resulted in resulty results of resultness.

Pinned and wired the brown leather neck area to the neck of the head.

Purchased a $4.00 stand to prop him up on for more structureness.
