I feel this custom is a good presentation of what I've learned all these years from making fan art creations. He show-cases the style I've developed, along with techniques and methods I've learned just from simply "doing".
With that said, this design was 100% made up and improvised; no references. I used guidelines from the customer as a starting off point, and it progressed as I worked on it.
It was to be more human-like than wolf-like, but to have a light gray body.
Started with with a bull body repaint in light gray acrylics. Several completely dry layers, in about 5 layers.
Face was to have a rugged scarred layout with one blue eye and one bionic eye.
Bionic eye is various beads, metal loops, black wire, and painted rhine stones.
Mane is re-haired in rain cloud and moonlight authentic Hasbro pony hair, and tail is just moonlight pony hair. Hair is styled in a faux hawk hair style.
Carved wounds on the ears as requested.
Pants are authentic dark brown leather with a leather belt.
There's gray/metallic detailing at the feet, as kind of "robotic shin-guards".
Hand-sewn gun holster, with a removable gun done in black leather and a painted wooden dowel.
There's a basic black vest under the coat with brown maxi piping. Coat is inverted faux leather, detailed in black maxi piping, black bias tape, black ribbon, hand-sewn pockets at the tops of the sleeves, and detailed in assorted rhinestones that are black, antique gold, and hand-painted. Straps are black bias tape detailed in black buttons.
