Skull kid has a full body repaint in brown acrylics, and black acrylics for the head. Eyes are painted in layers with a white base coat then several layers of oranges and yellows on top of that with an outline of browns.
Tail is Hasbro pony hair in the color of devil's food.
I cut the mask out of authentic moose hyde leather, painted it in acrylics, detailed in black hemp, and sealed it in mod podge. Spikes on the mask are anchored with wire, and I clip the points off of large plastic star gems to get the spikes. I then glue them to the wire, and seal the spikes with glue and paint. Mask is removable and re-attachable via a pin.
Outfit is entirely hand-sewn in a fine thin red leather. Detailed in hemp, leather straps, and metal rings. The yellow/red "straw" detailing are feathers that I hardened with sealant so they would have a solid, yet clean flexible appearance. (Wanted to avoid the tacky paper-like texture of actual straw/hay...)
Boots have a sculpted under-portion for the shape, then I attached the red leather fabric around them.
Fairies are cotton balls. For the red one, I painted purple acrylics on the middle of it so it would more closely resemble Majora's fairy.
Wings of the fairies are plastic from packaging of Hasbro ponies. Painted in acrylics- base layer of light blue, then a gradient of solid purple and neon blue acrylics with a over-layer of metallic purple and turquoise glitter acrylics for depth. Veins are charcoal acrylics that gradually change into storm grey acrylics and the branches of them are metallic pewter with the bases touched with charcoal acrylics. All for the sake of depth.
All in all, I was very inspired and intrigued by this custom so I got the entire thing done over the coarse of 2 days.
