Description

This is what became of this:

This is a design idea I got when I saw my shiny beige material and my shiny red leather material laying next to each other... I had to make a design made in an outfit made of the two materials!
Wanted to go with.... a traditional Japanese style design... ended up coming up with a form of a "death God" in the sense this concept is a spirit that appears in dreams... but if you get too close to it, you go into an eternal coma in real life.
You're not dead... and there might be a way to snap you out of coma... but you may have to dream some more to find that out.

what I was going for with this design, is to have it be slightly deceiving, but not very much. As you approach the creature it appears soft, and dream-like... but... as you get closer, you start to get a unsettling vibe about it; there's something wrong. I tried to achieve this with a wicked paint design, and on the head dress on the right side of the head I hand-crafted a black and pastel bead arrangement. The giant crystal moon with the black beads are symbolic of the true nature of the beast.
The large long brown bead has "illness" painted on it, in Japanese.

Now to separate mind from craft:

Face paint layered and textured in hundreds of layers of paint. Got an artists block during the painting process, and with the help of *BlackAngel-Diana and a few other mlparena members and dA members alike, I got through it. One person even suggest repeating the pattern on the body where ever the coat doesn't cover; so I made a point to expose part of the hind end of the custom to show-case this.

The scalp is re-rooted in pony hair in the colors of white witch, virgin snow, rain cloud, tea rose, daiquiri ice, and moonlight.

The wings are attached into the head with thick wire and the feathers are delicately hand-applied.
Beige/red trench coat is entirely hand-sewn and is made of a delicate shiny beige material, shiny red leather, and a beige leather with gray zippers and detailed in ribbon.
Head dress is hand-assembled, long brown bead is painted, and the rest of the beads used are antique beads from the 1920's.

The tail was originally a white rope, that I dyed purple and sewed a bunch of beads and feathers to. For the white ball, it was originally a "soccer ball" bead, but I applied some pearl craft dots to it to make it look more like a traditional ornament.

Wow it ended up really cool and dark. I just just love the design! The detail on the face and body markings is awesome.
